Acne!....It's something everyone dreads, so here are some simple true solutions that will help you take control of your Acne.

Below I'll explain how to take control of it, and how to "see" the signs of Acne.

First of all when you wake up in the morning and see that dreaded red bump on your face, your first instincts would be to "POP IT!" -DO NOT POP IT!!, there are many forms of Acne and not all are "poppable."
Acne What causes it?...Acne is Hereditary, but that shouldn't discourage you, because you can take control of it. Stress, sun exposure, seasonal changes, and climate can precipitate an Acne attack, and certain types of makeup.
In adult women, makeup is the major factor in acne breakouts. Oil-based makeup is the problem, the pigments in foundations, rouges, cleansing creams, or moisturizers aren't the problem, and neither is the water in products. It's just the oil itself, which is usually a derivative of fatty acids that are more potent than your own fatty acids. Use a non-oil based make-up if you are prone to Acne-(Mary Kay offers an Oil-Free Foundation, and most other products are Oil-Free too.)

Foods containing Iodines cause Acne-Iodine enters the body and mixes into the bloodstream, with the excess excreted through the oil glands. As it is excreted, it irritates the pores and brings on an Acne flare-up.

Most Importantly of all you shouldn't squeeze pimples or whiteheads, a pimple is an inflammation, and you could add to the inflammation by squeezing it. You may cause an infection. You can't do anything to a pimple to make it go away faster, normally a pimple will last from one to four weeks, but it will always go away.
A whitehead is a noninflamed plugged pore, the core of a whitehead is much smaller than the core of a blackhead. When you squeeze the whitehead, the wall of the pore could break and the contents could leak out into the skin and cause a pimple. A pimple naturally forms from the rupture of a whitehead pore wall.

Know when to squeeze Although most pimples are best left alone, there is one kind that you can squueze to help get rid of it, sometimes a pimple will have a little central yellow pus head in it-gentle squeezing usually pops these open very nicely. Once the pus is out, the pimple will heal more quickly.
You can also get rid of a blackhead the same way also.

You can fight back an Acne attach with over-the-counter products. Use OTC's with benzoyl peroxide in them(Mary Kay offers you the Acne Treatment Gel-which has 5% Benzoyl Peroxide) The benzoyl part pulls the peroxide into the pore and releases oxygen that kills the bacteria that aggravates Acne. It's like 2 drugs in one, the benzoyl also supresses the fatty acid cells that irritate the pores.
The percentage of Benzoyl Peroxide has nothing to do with how well the product will work for you, they're all the same, an Acne product containing 2% of Benzoyl Peroxide works just as well for an Acne Product that contains 10% Benzoyl Peroxide. So don't be fooled by the numbers.

Be sure to give dry skin extra care, because dry skin can be sensitive to products containing benzoyl peroxide, you will see reddening of the skin when you first use the product(benzoyl peroxide Acne gel)-that is a normal reaction, in time your skin will get used to the products.
When using the "Acne Treatment Gel" or any other Acne product, be sure to help stop the spread of Acne by applying the product around the problem area itself, applying the product directly on the pimple will not get rid of the pimple, all Acne products are used to Prevent Acne from occurring, so always be sure to apply the Acne product around the pimple to preven new pimples from forming.

I hope all of this new information about Acne will help you take control of those problem little bumps in your life!
